Mano Crush Monday! 😍😍😂
I wanna hold hands forever with this sexy guy….his full name is forearm-based volar thumb spica but I call him Manny 🤣
A splint like this is commonly used to treat De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, which is associated with chronic overuse of your wrist, doing things like scrolling social media……
Anyhoodles, one of the treatments is using a splint like this to give your muscles/tendons a break and keep them all cozy.
To make this temporary splint, we took a precut material with memory, submerged it in warm water for about one minute, and then molded it around our forearms and hands. We ensured it was aligned correctly and wrapped the thumb part around the thumb, close but with enough room to not cause discomfort, especially around the radial and ulnar styloids, 1st MP joint, and 1st web space.
We added some Velcro and ouila! Our beautiful splint! 😍😍😍
